Product Description
Monit offers three speed sensor options for connecting your rally computer to the vehicle. The right option depends on what speed signal is available in your car.
Inductive Wheel Probe
The Inductive Wheel Probe mounts near the wheel hub and detects wheel studs or other metal targets as the wheel rotates.
This is the most universal option and is ideal for vehicles without a suitable factory speed sensor, including many classic, historic and purpose-built competition cars.
Electronic Speed Sensor Interface
The Electronic Speed Sensor Interface allows the Monit to use an existing factory electronic speed signal, typically from a gearbox or differential-mounted speed sensor.
It works with most analogue and digital pulse signals and is a great option where the vehicle already has a suitable electronic speed sensor.
Not suitable for ABS wheel speed sensors.
ABS Sensor Interface
The ABS Sensor Interface converts the signal from a compatible two-wire ABS wheel speed sensor into a signal the Monit rally computer can use.
This option is designed for competition vehicles where the ABS wheel speed sensor is no longer being used by the vehicle's ABS or other safety systems.
Important: The PR003 must not be connected to an ABS wheel speed sensor that is still being used by the vehicle's safety systems.
Which One Do I Need?
- No factory speed sensor? → Inductive Wheel Probe
- Gearbox/differential electronic speed sensor? → Electronic Speed Sensor Interface
- Unused two-wire ABS wheel speed sensor? → ABS Sensor Interface
